Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pictango mobile application ("the App"), provided by corita ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The Service

The App is a vocabulary learning service that presents Japanese words with images and lets users track their learning progress. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time.

2. Subscription

With the free plan, you can learn up to a set number of words. To continue learning beyond that limit, a monthly premium subscription ("Premium") is required. Premium unlocks all words with no limit.

Price. Premium is billed monthly through Apple's App Store at the price shown on the store at the time of purchase. Prices vary by region and are subject to change with notice.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically and the applicable fee is charged unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancellation. Manage or cancel your subscription at any time via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds. Refund requests are governed by Apple's refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or assets.
Use the App to violate any law or third-party rights.
Interfere with the App's normal operation.
Share or transfer your subscription with others.

4. Intellectual Property

All content in the App, including word lists, definitions, images, design, and code, is owned by corita or its licensors. Premium subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App for your own learning. No other rights are granted.

5. User Conduct

We reserve the right to terminate your access to the App, including any active subscription, if you violate these Terms. If we terminate your access due to your breach, you will not be entitled to a refund.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that learning outcomes will be achieved.

7. Content Generation and Accuracy

The images, definitions, example sentences, and other learning content in the App are created using artificial intelligence (AI). While we work to improve their quality, we do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose of this content, and it may contain errors or inaccuracies. The App is a learning aid and is not a substitute for a dictionary or other authoritative reference. If you rely on it for exams, work, or other important purposes, please verify the content against trustworthy sources.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, corita shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the effective date and, where reasonably possible, notify users through the App.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
